Dyson AM09

This product looks very good but to be honest I was expecting a lot more for the price. I have it in a treatment room at my salon and its cool but not as cold as I hoped. I expected a little more from dyson technology as I love their products normally; hgowever a cheaper fan would have the same effect.

As a heater it’s excellent but as a fan it’s good, but no better than a normal decent fan you’d pay £50 for in my opinion.
It looks stylish, isn’t noisy and doesn’t take up too much room.

Very stylish and warms up the room quickly. Pricey but worth the investment.

I have yet to be disappointed with any Dyson product and am very happy with this. The design and appearance are very pleasing and the performance is second to none. I have seen comments regarding the price but I believe if you want the best then you pay for it and this is certainly worth it. Having said all that this one was not the full price so I feel I have gained twice, once for the product and second for paying less.

Fabulous Fan, I am using this as a heater currently as it is winter, it doesn't dry the air out like a lot of other heaters, also very quiet

The product is decent, the heat function really does kick butt, and in a reasonable size room does the trick swiftly.

10 speed settings, give a good level of control. The remote is decent, requires to be pointed straight at device.

It does what you wanted from it when purchasing.

I am an avid fan of Dyson product design. However this fan simply lacks the performance to make it worthwhile. It certainly looks beautiful and I can credit the idea of a bladeless fan especially with small children at home. However the fan is simply not strong enough. I have yet not used it in winter but based on my experience in the summer I cannot recommend it.

Excellent product. Very quiet even with the full fan in operation. Heats quickly and efficiently. The cooling/fan function also operates as expected. Overall a well built, sturdy, lightweight product with the type of thoughtful design features expected from Dyson.

As you expect a top quality product from Dyson and looks good. I have dropped a star because the price is so much higher than other products, but as they say you pay for what you get, I have only had it a month so will review properly in a few months time and maybe the price will be worth it.

I'm very pleased with this fan. I use it in my salon, which is quite small, and it does the job perfectly! I've had the dyson cool fan for a few years but decided to get the hot & cold one. It's fairly quiet, you can alter the temperature and strength of the fan very easily with the remote control. It looks sleek and modern & easy to keep clean. Not sure how good it would be in a big room?

I see that there are mixed opinions about this item. I think most of the in-depth views are already out there and it seems to me that this really comes down to a personal choice about: a) if it is loud b) if it is effective and c) if it is too expensive d) if it heats quickly. I have only used it as a heater so far and that was my main reason for purchase. My take on it is this
a) is it loud...well to me, no, it is fairly unobtrusive but I can certainly see that some people have a lower threshold...

Incredibly expensive for a fan heater and summer fan (even at the 10% discount Dyson are currently offering though its resellers such as John Lewis) but I have to confess that it is just what we needed for our conservatory which we use as a family room and eat breakfast in when not too cold. Although the conservatory has a radiator it still gets nippy when it gets to zero outside particularly first thing. I bought this thinking it would be something special for the ?400 price tag. It's not. Firstly it is quite noisy, I expected it to be quieter. If you need to turn it up to get a decent blast, it seems as noisy as any other fan and hot or cold, you do have to turn the fan speed up to get any efficiency out of it.

The thing that really annoys me is the thermostat which seems to have little or no effect at all. I can only surmise that it is located in the base because even if my room is 24C,...

I have an AM05 and an AM09 in front of me. On balance, I prefer the old AM05... and it's cheaper.

I guess if you want original style and are able to afford it you buy a Rolex Explorer, if you want a computer you buy Apple, if you want a 4 x 4 you buy a Landrover; if you want a heater / fan then the AM09 looks like no other. I purchased the Black, it looks good and heats the room. I still think ?400.00 a crackers price to pay but it does not smell of burnt dust when switched on to heat a room .... and it heats the room just fine. I have no regrets but then again I have yet to receive the Electricity...

Received this two weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I just cannot understand the other reviewers who have slated it.

Firstly, the noise issue. We recently experienced the hottest day, and night, of the year so I used it to cool our bedroom. Within minutes, the temperature was much reduced. I then set the timer to switch off after two hours and left it on at setting 5 (half speed).
